Welcome to The Gower Dough Co
Wood Fired Pizza On-The-Go
Hitting the streets daily, The Gower Dough Co is a premier Pizza Food Truck that provides quick and delicious food on-the-go. Whether you’re in need of a delicious bite or just don’t have time to sit and eat, we got you covered.
It started on the brink of a pandemic… whilst working for the NHS and Mama-bear to a toddler, this business was only intended to be a side hustle, catering for the odd wedding and festival events over summer. Within a few weeks of launching our plans, we were fully booked during May, June, July, with wedding bookings scattered throughout the year. But with COVID 19 came cancellations and we needed to get this little pizza trailer business off the ground ASAP. We launched a delivery service from our home in the Gower. And, with the support of our local community, were busier than we could ever imagine. As we could only deliver within x-mile radius, and an increasing number of customers asking for a taste of the action, deconstructed (make-at-home) pizza kits were born; with our delivery areas rapidly expanding. We moved into a unit in Crofty, shared with our friends at Gower Events. We bought a bus. Erm, Craig bought a bus (I still don’t remember agreeing to that one)… After two whirlwind months of self-employment, I left my full-time job knowing The Gower Dough Co was no longer a ‘side-hustle’ and we were in deep! Our first big contract was Margam Country Park for summer ’20 followed by Swansea Bay Pop-up (the one with the big circus tent). Amongst this, Craig left his FT fire-fighter job too! Our trailer (Saffie) and bus (Ruby) have both catered smaller-scale events including birthday parties, Christmas parties (for ‘essential’ business that were still able to open) and local deliveries around our base in Crofty. They say don’t quit whilst your ahead, so we launched ‘Gower Dough Presents’ in December ’20 too. A COVID safe & family friendly drive-in cinema, with Ruby dishing out the goods. January ’21, and were welcoming our latest trailer ‘Amber.’ She’s booked for the summer so make sure to follow our social accounts for where she ends up.
None of its been easy, or plain sailing at the best of times. We’ve been thrown in at the deep end and I’d like to say we’ve learnt a lot along the way. A big thankyou, to you, our customers, for making this happen, supporting local, supporting small and most importantly- supporting friends. Cheers to that!
